SEXY BABE!!!

Please let us know more about how the neck feels and plays to you.

Also, how's the volume balance of the 2 pickups?

Congratulations, Ed!Image

I really need to play a 4004 series with the "new" p/u's...
Can't wait for the post-practice review.

Congrats Ed!

She is stunning Ed, congrats! Now I know why I love the 4004 range so much! I love the flammed maple strip through the center of the bass!

Only jammed with the guitarist tonight, but the early verdict is:

WHOA! Image

Played really easy, and I found that I could coax a lot of different tones out of it. Sure, the VVT mods and the concentric VTVT ones would have more flexibility, but this is enough for me.

I'm still not so sure about the strings...but I might just get used to them. With the added ouput of the humbuckers I won't have to play as hard, so rounds might not chew up my fingertips as much as I remember them doing in the past. Image

All in all, a very nice introduction. I'm going to love this bass.

They power themselves effortlessly, don't they.

HB1s are fantastic pickups.

Jared-not for a while! Image My GAS is cured for now...next major piece will be another speaker cabinet (and get my old Carvin 300 W head fixed up a bit) so both my son and I have decent amps on the rare days our playing shedules conflict.

Now, if Dustin wants to save his $, I'd advise him that a 4004 is a good aim. Image

Mark-no doubt about the power. I was running the final output volume on my amp at about 3/10, and had the volume cut way back last night. Granted, it was only against a single guitar, but he was using my 120 Peavey Triumph, and for a while it had the master set at 5. As I understand these are same PU's that are on my Dakota...and that axe never lacked any power.

Looking through the care guide that came with the Laredo I see that the strings are 40-95's...no wonder they feel like toys. I'm used to 50-100's...except for the E, all the strings are 0.010 smaller than the bridge cables I usually use. I think for the time being I'll stay with this guage and rounds...why mess with a good thing?
