The bots should be able to be blocked by adding some a couple lines of code to the site.

For example:

User-agent: Googlebot
Disallow:

User-agent: Googlebot-Mobile
Disallow: /

I am not 100% knowledgeable about phpBB, but I believe this an easy change.

Just a general comment. Please don't read anything else into it. If you are a facebook member you are most likely just as much at risk of your information being available to anyone who wants to find out about you as you are here and in some cases more so.
