RRF Coming under fire

Post by beatlefreak »

There is a revived thread over at Rickenbacker.com in which people are complaining, and in some cases spreading false rumors about the RickResources forum. Some are saying that they registered here, but haven't heard back. I know we're a friendly forum here, guys and gals, and I just hate to hear this badmouthing going on.

Yeah, I read few posts on that thread this morning, it sure has gone down hill since then...

Whatever, sounds like someone has an axe to grind. The 'widely circulating' rumours is interesting.

Wow, that's unpleasant. :(

What's the point of that?

The same "name" is attached to this appalling statement I noticed a while ago.

That one seems to have gone bye bye, no doubt thanks to the good folks at RIC...

As a rule we simply do not condone bringing matters that are brought up on other boards here. Since the forum that is the subject of this thread is the official Rickenbacker forum I believe we can relax the rule in this case.

Lest people are absolutely fool hardy, surely they do not believe that what they say on any another forum is not known and made note of by people who post here. I wish it were not the case, but when a person drags a bad attitude from one forum to another it is noticed and people here sometimes take offence.

As you all know we remain one of the most civil forums on the internet; and for good reason.

This is why this is my favorite forum, people here feel like friends and family.

As a general comment, it is worth noting that new registrations are approved provided that they have a first and last name. Also, I will be the first to say that I am not perfect and that errors have been made in registrations over the past decade. All that is required should a registration not be returned promptly is to contact the admin.

Ya know, hearing things like this make me sick...I prefer this place to the Corporate forums

Over three years ago, I joined a forum (not guitar related) where I thought it was like friends and family, but it took over my life to the point where I couldn't function without it. In December 2006, I had a falling out with the admin (and this wasn't the first one, either) to the point where I was banned (he says I deleted my own account, this is true, but only after I received notice I was banned), and I almost joined in December 2007, but the admin decided I shouldn't be allowed back (it's due to something I don't wish to talk about).

When I joined here in November 2007, being the youngest member put me off a little bit, but now, I've made a lot of friends who respect me and have made my music room a lot nicer (with a 1997 and some posters!). So, in all, this forum is the best, and Peter McCormack, I hope we never having a falling out (the admin of the other forum is 22 and had a rough relationship with his father)!

Well said Jake. I agree that you have found a place here where you have been accepted.

You are wise beyond your years and it shows in the vast majority of your very considerate and thoughtful posts. Obviously it is not age that matters. What does matter is how you treat others and afford them the opportunity to also express themselves in a similarly considerate manner.

That is what makes the difference in being able to enjoy this forum.

+1 Even though I still visit the Ric forum and did have a chance to put my two cents worth in on that thread, this has gotten to be home for me.
