Jeff, I must admit that perhaps I am getting a bit old to lug these around still, but they sound so good.
Elys, don't even kid about that...
Before I plunked down the money for the 4005-8, I made sure that she had two truss rods.

What a beautiful, well-lighted room to display these in. Love a grey wall, makes the colors really pop. And given the amplification shown, I figure that room must be about 20,000 feet long...?

Just catching up here, Biscuti -
WOW... those are some great looking basses all around. I had the pleasure of playing Dave's 'Mr. Potatohead' bass - a truly remarkable instrument that stands above most all I've heard. I think it deserves a more fitting nickname... something like 'Excelsior' or perhaps even more fitting, 'Octavius The Magnificent.'
And there's no denying the hotness factor of that white 4005. THAT is sharp. The black one with the bound F hole is pretty hot, too. John - you mentioned that the owner is in NYC - is he/she a forum member?

Chris told me that neither one was for sale - they just happened to have " walked into the shop" and he snapped some pics. Shame, I really love that white one!

By the way, Biscuti - that is one sweet '66 WB you snagged! Welcome to the "60's club" - if there is such a thing. Sorry to see the Burgundy '74 leave, but as sacrifices go, you made the right call. Looking forward to seeing the '66 when it's done. Have you considered replacing that larger PG with the standard shaped one so's to reveal more of the figured wood?
