New! "Model of the Week"!

Post by sloop_john_b »

In lieu of Mr. Boyer's "Color of the Week" thread dying (with seven months to go before we find out the new COY), and forumites desperately needing a way of showing off their precious Rickenbackers, I give you the "Model of the Week" (don't count on posting pictures of Claudia Schiffer, though).

Finally, a reason to look forward to Wednesdays! Just check this space once a week for a chance to show off a model you own or once owned.

Let's begin with a bang, shall we? Show us your 4003's!

Here is my world-renowned 1999 4003v68:

And a 2006 4003MG I owned briefly last year:

Well, i guess i'll have to wait a long long time again until the thread finally gets to "my" model, and then will just escape missing it. Image Kiddin'. Good idea, methinks.

Well, I could flood the thread with pictures of 4003 basses I've taken over the last three years, but then nobody would buy the book! So, here's just my current fleet of 4003s. From left, 07 Dark Cherry Metallic 75th Anniversary Edition; 04 Montezuma Brown with Hipshot bridge, Pickguardian "Paul Boyer Signature Edition" pickguard and treble pickup surround; 00 Sea Green; 07 Amber Fireglo.

John, better check the RIC forums. If I read it right, Mr. Hall said their may not be a COY next year. It all depends on the B/O's. Check out the tread coy 2008.

Here are my two 4003 basses. On the left is my first good bass, the 2004 4003MG. On the right, is my new-to-me 4003S MGBT after a good cleaning with Scratch-X and Zymol.
