He stated that RIC shuts these auctions down... I guess even selling them on ebay is a copy infringment of sorts too??? Most of these copies seem so lame, they should to be shut down...

Watch out for yet another fake on Ebay, item 901533332! It too has FAKE written all over it. I'm sorry I can't post the pictures here. Maybe Peter will be able to oblige. Put them fakes on the hit list!

None of the pics show a nameplate--does it have a Rick nameplate on it?
Definitely from the 'lawsuit era'......
Here is another fake, this time its a guitar; one of the best I've seen in a while.....

Look how dark the fingerboard material is. Also, last time I checked, Grover heads had their name on them. It is a very good copy!!!

The bass does have a nameplate, as shown in one of the six pictures, however you can hardly make the lettering out. Further details that give the game away: the 'skunk' stripe is a shade too wide and appears to be flanked by a very thin strip of a different wood, the lower body horn is a shade too thin, and you can't tell whether the body has binding at all. As for the fake guitar spotted by Leftybass, I agree it is one the best to come along, but it won't fool true Rickenbacker connoisseurs.

The guitar is gone already - presumably shut down by RIC.

Look at the triangle inlays: they are much too short (like later model Ric's) too be authentic.

I saw this one when it first went up & forgot about it, I sure hope the winner knows what he just got for his $799.87, however he's only got one feedback so I doubt it, it's a shame this one was not closed down by Ric , that low opening bid & the sellers feedback made me nervous right away, I feel real bad for the winner,

The high bidder was warned by someone on another forum & retracted his bid. He was VERY greatful!
Don't you just love a happy ending?

I think Jaime and I were the ones who warned him. Unfortunately the "winner" will get an unhappy surprise.

We told him about it over at the Dudepit after he placed the bid, somebody's not gonna be happy.
