Thanks Gary. After looking at the auction's pix, I like their size and they must be pretty desirable as there are already 11 bids! I didn't see the horn or tweeters in the cab. Are they on the side? You mentioned the high and mid response, how's the bass (can you tell I'm a bass player?)?

Ron, the bass response is nice and clear, not boomy like some cheaper speakers sound. It's deep enough that I can play bass along to Walk Away Renee, one of the few bass lines I know by heart, through a practice amp and hear everything clearly.

The bass speaker is open toward the back, that's why those particular pics don't show the horns - they are behind the grill cloth in the front of the cabinet:

There is also a Klipsch Forum in case you haven't run across it yet:

http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/

I've glanced at/read a few of the postings there that have come up in searches on "Klipsch", but it looks like it contains a wealth of info.

That's more like it, I'll look in to them a bit more and look up the forum as well! Thanks again Gary

I know these are not the model number specified, but I figured I'd throw them out anyway ...

Buy this vintage (1973) LP spinner and join the vinyl gang at Jerry's. Turntable was renovated/restored by a Dual turntables specialist, and I liked it so much, I'm selling it to buy a better turntable. It's got a Shure M91ED cartridge with relatively few hours--under 50 I'm sure. Go to http://www.dual-reference.com/ to check out Dual turntables. Then e-mail me or call 412-421-1938. $75 OBO

And a more recent one (11/5):

Thanks Doc, I've only been watching eBay (typically fetching $200-250) and keeping my fingers crossed I would come across one locally (like super cheap at an estate sale!).What are the chances that will happen? Thanks again, I'll follow up on a few of these.

Top of the line in 1979. Cosmetically very nice. Has cartridge, sounds good.

Something wrong with motor - it plays fine but has to be started by hand.

Price is firm.
this is in or around West Hollywood, The Grove

Thanks Gary, I really appreciate your continued help and tenacity. I have emailed you direct and have emailed the owner. I did some checking up here and got an estimate of $85-100 to repair.
