I reviewed the photos....
You have the "newer" tailpiece, which has more metal/mass to supposely make it stronger than the older ones... you'd think????
BTW: I ordered a "new" 4003 tailpiece from Rick a year ago to put on my 4001... The problem was it already had a lift to it and it was NEW!!!!
Brand new, it did not sit flush on my guitar !!!!
If you want... You can send it to me, I can straighten it so it is as flat as glass... Then I can add the two additional holes with a very clean counter-sink..it would look clean like a factory piece....
WHen I get time... i was working on a mod that will permently fix the tail lift "for once and for all"... It invloves modifying the bottom rear of the tailpiece so that it hooks into a small anchor that is mounted to the body...all this will be hidden under the tailpiece...
