Now you have to work toward the full house that, can't say beats....but, augments your pair. Two superb specimens.

Thing with a full house, is eventually you need to get a bigger house.

Please pardon my ignorance, but does the half inch neck p'up position placement make that big of a difference??? If there's a thread or research I can follow, please point me in that direction... Would it be worth repositioning the 4003 neck p'up?

Congratulations on the new addition to your Rick family!!

I only have my experience to go on, but my 68 has a huge rout in it and I've got two pickguards (one with each positioning.) For chits and giggles, I swap them out occasionally. To my ears, it's not a big difference.

Thanks! I believe they are superb specimens as well!

I think the next symptoms exhibited for my case of RAS will be a 4003FL, a 4003S/5, and a 4004 Cii (maybe a 4003S/8 way down the road). But none of those are coming my way soon, that's for sure!

There is a thread about this.

You'll find that it depends on who you ask. I can't say because my 4003 has a hi-gain, while my 4001C64 has a toaster.

And thanks for the congrats!

Congrats, Jonathan !!! Very nice acquisition.
That's a real nice pair you have there and I echo the comments about a full house beating a pair !!!! :D
I'm glad to see you have the R.A.S. so well under control and have the several future acquisitions planned out.

If you are planning a little Ricken jam session, where you give this new baby a proper test drive - Let me know !

Thanks, Scott. I would think it would be better left where it is, based upon the harmonics available above the p'up in that position...

Thanks, Rich!

Regarding R.A.S., it occurred to me after the fact that my list there only covers the basses. If my guitar playing develops further, a 360/12 and a 330 (likely in that order) join the list. Again, not soon!

And yes, if any kind of a jam session occurs, you'll be in on it! The SCARF group seems to meet up, what, 3 times a year or so for mini-cons and/or jams? We're probably due up here in a couple of months!

I'll have to be much more financially stable before I even thing about those two!

I suppose I'd want a 4002 before I'd want a 4005. It depends on just how bad the R.A.S. gets.
