Good question - that's a reissue that would be of great interest!egosheep wrote:When is Gibson going to reissue the 335/12??

The whole comment section's filled mainly with negative gibberish, if you ask me.JakeK wrote:You lot should read the comments at Gibson's site. Praising this new SG 12, but bashing Ric...
Ha - good point! Well, 1000 more 12-string players is still a good thing.Wildberry wrote:The SG-12's a limited run of less than 1000 - I doubt it will raise the amount of 12-string players by much![]()
Nice article - very respectful of the Ric 12-string's impact on modern music.Wildberry wrote:As for Gibson bashing Ric... anyone forget this article on the Gibson website?

It's funny how we have regulations about interference - Legally, you're not suppose to pick up radiostations through your guitar or amp, as far as I know. I can plug in a Dunlop Crybaby and pickup all kinds of radio AND TV signals...stsang wrote:My Rick360/12 picks up radio stations too if I partially insert a TR cable into the mono jack on the guitar. Once the jack is in fully, the reception disappears. I haven't figured out yet how to tune to different stations.IvanMunoz wrote:Thats really weird! At guitar center a couple years ago, I played a used epi LP and it picked up radio stations.
The comments on that article say he used a 330, I guess no one at gibson understands Old StyleWildberry wrote:The whole comment section's filled mainly with negative gibberish, if you ask me.JakeK wrote:You lot should read the comments at Gibson's site. Praising this new SG 12, but bashing Ric...

I also doubt we'll see the 335-12 re-issued anytime soon. As for Epiphone, it's not interested in 12-string electrics.

The restrictions you're speaking of are related to components that can generate interference, certainly not passive devices that can receive. Even metallic fillings in teeth can receive radio broadcasts sometimes, for goodness sake!Ain'tGotNoPokemon wrote:It's funny how we have regulations about interference - Legally, you're not suppose to pick up radiostations through your guitar or amp, as far as I know. What Mr. Hall said-my guitar amps(Fender and Vox), and my fellow guitarist Jayme's(Mesa Boogie), have periodically picked up radio broadcasts. . . . or the vocals in the next studio. . . I think our bassist Dave's A.M.P. (seriously, that's its name) bass amp has as well. Never all at the same time, thank goodness.johnhall wrote:The restrictions you're speaking of are related to components that can generate interference, certainly not passive devices that can receive. It's all a matter of proper shielding and grounding. Anything with additional gain, like a pedal, can exacerbate unwanted reception.
Amplified Music Products; SWR (the man, pre the company) and Russ Allee (IIRC) did those after they were done with Acoustic Control Corporation. Those amps are highly thought of in the bass community, really. Notice it's similarity to a SWR Studio 220 preamp layout; Gibson did an amp for a while that was basically the same amp, most likely made by AMP and rebadged, essentially.paologregorio wrote:I think our bassist Dave's A.M.P. Ha! I looked at the very same guitar yesterday too! We probably passed each other entering and leaving the store.stsang wrote: BTW, I also saw a gorgeous Jetglo Ric 360/12c63 in Rudy's Music across the street that was more than twice the price of the SG-12 - but that's the one that got my heart racing and and had me thinking about raiding my piggy bank.
