agreed. Ghettos rarely produce the best music & cultures...at the end of the day it's all music, it's all good, even those poor unfortunates who have to play it on non RICs 8)

Consider the source ...

Well, I'm "the source" that kiramdear decided to quote. And would you believe I own a 4003. She's a Jetglow with a black pick guard and a black and gold truss rod cover, she's ace. I'll post some pics up when I get chance.
And also would you believe, I bought it off Geofio (George) who started this thread. George by the way is a top guy, he's been on Basschat for a while now and he knows his Ricky back to front. I bought mine off him as I knew it would be a peach, and it is.

From my understanding of the issue, it's down to copyright of headstock, body and truss rod cover mainly on Ricky fakers for sale / trade or hire. That's why I made the comment on Basschat that kiramdear seemed to find so amusing, as I can't see the point of banning all Ricky content, only the sale of Rickyfakers that upsets Rick so much. For the record, I'm a mod on basschat, and "that Hamster" that has been quoted is a forum admin. Also for the record I'm a proud 4003 owner.

Best
John

This place sometimes resembles a religious sect more that a forum. Maybe I should go register at basschat instead.

When you put a group of people who neither respect nor understand the law together in one place, nothing good comes from it.
What goes on between RIC and BassChat UK is business and should stay between them.
Is this forum, RickResource, supposed to be a place where the CO of RIC can freely publish disrespectful and patronizing characterization of people on other forums?

You would be very welcome Geir, we are an eclectic bunch!

FWIW I voted no to the ban on BC because I don't think content should be censored but I fully understand the position the Mods are in with respect to the situation. Also, I fully respect the views of BC members who voted yes to the ban, they are just as entitled to their opinion as I am.
