I believe it was an Azureglo in that Feb. '77 centerfold.
Azureglo was officially available '69-'85, and Midnight Blue '85-present.

I remember Azureglos and they were light compared to midnight Blues, I saw one a few years ago from the 70's and even over this period of time they haven't darkened a whole lot, mine is dark, the two colors are very different. When I bought it they had a brand new midnight blue in the store also and the colors were identical, I was also told that it was Mid. Blue when I bought it, Ric has offered colors when supposedly they weren't available.
I had a V-63 that was a made a whole year after they had supposedly discontinued them, first week of 2002.
The center fold was Azureglo, and they still look that same shade now, I've seen a few in Ebay, mine is much darker than that one. If mine is Azureglo then they must have been experimenting with different shades at the time. If you saw the two next to each other in the flesh (the wood?) you'd see the difference right away.

Bob, I'll bet that v63 you are talking about was on order when they were discontinued. Burgandy was the color for 2002, but unless I'm mistaken Mike Parks may actually have some Burgandy guitars/basses still on order on his site...
