"CMHA? Educate me, guys...."
Sorry, Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority. Financially assisted (free) properties for those unable (unwilling) to work. Don't get me wrong, I have no issue with helping those that need help in life but the system in place is massively abused and most of the CMHA properties are nothing but party centers at tax payers expense for leeches on society. I'm sorry, do I seem bitter/jaded?

We have it in various forms over here, too - 'public housing' it's called - very low rental or repayment housing provided by the government. There are those that take advantage of the system and get a virtual free ride. And they often completely trash the houses they are 'given' and move on to new ones.

>>Significant historical site<<
Not long ago I lived about three blocks from the old Ludwig factory in Chicago, which until the mid 80s was also in a very manufacturing oriented part of town.
The building was converted into loft condos 10 or 15 years ago. Not sure if there is a sign on it about its Ludwig history.
Just north of it ran a three track rail spur which was down to one creaky track which I believe served one remaining business when I was there. Not even sure if that's there anymore.

Northeast Ohio would be an excellent place to relocate!

I would think he'd be looking to keep RIC roughly where it is, given the location of the employees and himself. Just find a less valuable lump of dirt........

My friend imports birds from all over the world to the U.S. His wife owns a large successful cosmetics firm.
He has a farm near Chicago within which he's devoted 320 acres as a bird sanctuary.
He wants to buy land/a building here in the L.A. area to custom build his own quarantine station instead of sub-leasing.
After a year of trying to locate a suitable spot, he's given up. Prices are just too dang high here!

I wonder what qualifies as a farm near Chicago these days. 100 miles from the city? A friend of mine's wife's family has had one northwest of Chgo forever but now it's almost completely surrounded by suburban sprawl.

No sorry if I wansn't clear. His farm (corn) and sanctuary is in Ill., out of the Chicago area.
He must quarantine his birds in L.A. before taking possession.
Hollywood is so full of cuckoos they're spreading throughout L.A.
