75th Anniversary shindig?

Post by melibreits »

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if there is going to be some kind of RIC 75th anniversary party or some kind of related festivities in Santa Ana this summer?

No announcement yet, but when I talked with John Hall at the SoCalCon, he suggested I keep late August open for "an event." I think they're still working on the plans.

Melissa, sorry not to hear from you the week between Christmas and New Years. Did you make it to Wisconsin?

I'm sorry I didn't get in touch with you, Paul.... the trip went by too quickly and there were too many family "obligations" to get away....

And then we got home for a week and got sort of caught up on our business, and now we are away again on a business trip (I am on our laptop, and bored out of my mind at the moment as my husband is in a very long meeting; the Internet and a paperback novel are all I have to keep from going crazy, LOL!)....

BTW, the reason I asked is because we are in the pre-planning stages for a nice family vacation this summer, and southern California is looking like a fine possibility! Image

Oh, and also I have no guitar with me. I NEVER get bored if I have access to a guitar, LOL! Image I wanted to take my Martin backpacker, but my hubby thought I was crazy.... Next time I think that will be my carry-on, sigh....

If we fly to California I WILL be checking some serious baggage, LOL! But which ones?

Sorry.... I shouldn't be whining; after all, I have been generously wined and dined, and the kids are not with us on this trip! Image

Just a guess, but you might want to be in So Cal around the third week of August. I plan to be there around that time, and then we are going to head up to Monterey for a few days. I highly suggest you put Monterey on your itinary if you haven't been there.

Any more news on what might be happening and when? I need to book some time off work.

I've heard rumors about something around the second or third week of August.... but I don't think anything specific has been nailed down yet. I'd like to start making some definite plans, too.

I'm hoping to do a Ric/wine country trip as well, in late summer.
