And I thought that I paid too much for this one....$1600. So I sold it, lol.
There are some things that you will regret the rest of your life. Selling this 381 (to anyone but me) should be one of them, John

WOW! Not to rub your nose in it, Willi, but that is truly THEE most amazing wood I've ever seen - and the 381 is like the Cadillac of Ricks in my opinion. Gorgeous guitar! Thanks for sharing the pic. Feel free to post all that you have of this beauty. ~AND~ I hope you've learned your lesson, young man.

Welcome to the Forum, Higgins! Allow me to be the demon sitting on your right shoulder:
"C'mon, John! BUY it! You KNOW you want it... What else are you gonna do with that money? Pay your MORTGAGE? HA! 'Credit' is over-rated! Spend yer $$$ on something you'll reap pleasure from! Everyone ELSE is doing it! Why shouldn't YOU?"

The back of Kevin's '87 381FG has got to be the greatest looking Rick pic posted on these forums (and there have been MANY) - positively rich and classy looking (in an old millionaire's private furnished den sort of way)! And John's awesome figured MG stands right next to it, too. If I were a guitar picker, the 381 would be my choice.

For what its worth, Kevin's 381 had a much nicer back than my MG 381. Whats up with that!? Lol! maybe thats why i sold it. Yeah, thats the ticket!

I was hoping to find the time to take some better pictures of my 381 this week, but since there's no way that's gonna happen, I guess I'd better recycle the old ones again before we move on to other models, LOL!

Ooh! It's quilted! Does that mean it picks up spills better?

By the way, that is a unique piece of maple, the way the grain is narrower under the strings than either side. It is a most attractive figuring pattern. It makes your very distinctive.

That really is one gorgeous guitar. Y'know, I don't think I have ever seen an ugly 381 on this forum, yet.
