Cool. Thanks Andrew. I remember years back (1999) some forum member made these as well. I think he lived in Michigan but I may be mistaken. He made one for my old '71 but the spacing was wrong. I did not know (at that time) that some of holes were spaced differently.

Your welcome Bob.

I think Don Adamek may have made some too back in the day.

I remember an old thread where we measured the difference between the holes on our lucite 'bars!

I remember that thread; the conclusion, IIRC, was that they were all hand cut and drilled to the bass on assy.

Looks great, Bob. I like that it is a deep color but still transparent - you can see the walnut in the headstock.

How much work did Dale do on it?

Dale did a re-fret and refinished the fingerboard. He also wired in Sergio's treble pickup as well as the controls. If you look in the beginning of this thread you can see how bad of shape the fingerboard was in. I ordered a bar from Pickguardian and mine was the 1 9/32 spacing.

Thanks, Bob. I'd read the thread and saw the way the fingerboard finish was cracking, but wasn't sure of a full refin as the bass in those earlier pics looked darker. Dale does really nice work!

Sweet Bob!

I love all of the Burgandy variations, from eggplant to cherry!

I forgot to mention that Dale also sealed up and touched up the crack behind the headstock. You can't even tell it was there now. He also gave the bass a great polish job.

Dale, you're lucky that the tug bar/finger rest is not yet trademark protected, I guess. Image
