I hope it's real, Bob. The ticket price is not high enough for a scam. Pay with PayPal and you're insured.

Bob, did you actually register at the ahmettribute.com site? That's the only legit way to have gotten the chance to buy (2 maximum) tickets for this. And apparently it would have to be *you* that registered in order to get tickets for *you* - no friends, dead relatives, cats...

There were lots of people that tried to get as many people to register for them as possible, but they're using a passcode method to verify that the person buying is the person that received notification that they'd been selected from the ballot. Apparently, again, there have been lots of eBay sales of passcodes in the last couple days, but those folks who shelled out seem to be SOL. Of course, the scalpers got their money in the meantime.
I think it's a great way to ensure fairness to the fans, but it's sure made a mess of things in the short term.

Thanks guys, I will report back.
There is a kind of weird karma about this as I started the thread.
My mate, Charles was the one who sent me a link to apply for tickets, he is also a client of mine, I'm an advertising photographer, and he has assured me that I will now be his only photographer for the rest of his career!!!!

Just a heads up for Bob - and anyone else that might be going to the O2 reunion gig. The date has been pushed back to December 10th (from the original Nov. 26th) due to Page breaking a finger. All tickets will be honoured, but I'm curious how any other arrangements will be handled (things like plane tickets etc. - all things obviously outside the control of the promoter).
You may already have heard this - just wanted to make sure.

The "broken finger" bit is total BS. At 60 years old, Page would need a lot more time than 2 weeks to mend a "broken finger." My bet is that they are not ready -- plain and simple. Plant has already said that they "want to go out with a bang." The majority of tickets sold in that 22 million lottery are from out of the country. The pound is slightly double up over the dollar. Hotels, airlines and other costs incurred by fans who were lucky enough to obtain tickets, will have to be eaten. Lots of people are going to scream. A shame!

I seem to recall Page also slammed his finger in a train door and was put out of commission for awhile in the 70's. He seems to have bad luck with this sort of thing, for a guitarist. Didn't he play on Joe Cocker's version of "With a Little Help From My Friends", the tune with the Beatles working title of "Badfinger Boogie"?

What a good memory, Jo! Yes! I saw them in, maybe '73, at the Forum in LA and he had "slammed his hand in the car door" the prior day. The concert was almost cancelled and all the radio stations assured us that the show would happen. It did and Page played under his usual sloppy demeanor -- either drunk or stoned.
I might have already posted this photo of the old/new Led Zeppelin

Thanks for the update chaps. I got an email from Ticketmaster to say that it had been put back. Aside from a hotel room that will have to be canceled it will not cause me too much trouble. As for fans that are flying in for the gig...? My heart goes out to them, it must be quite a headache.
My personal feeling is that Pagey really has damaged his finger. FWIW I played a 30 year reuniun concert last year of my 70's band Mantiss. It only took four intensive days in a studio to knock us back into a gig fit band. I would have thought these old pros could get it together over the past few months.
Anyone else on the forum showing up for the gig?
