Or you would think that a buyer paying $10,000 wouldn't care or notice an additional half of one percent for shipping.

Personally, I think that's a pretty good price.

Fireglo? Well, maybe, but that's a mighty fine hunk of maple there IMHO... 8)
As for the horseshoe, well...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

It's amazing what will happen with the passage of time.

At least they are cognizant of the economic realities and have adjusted their pricing accordingly. :wink:

It's a nice bass. That's for sure. I don't know if its $8,000.00 nice, though.
If Mozart were with us today, he'd play a Fireglo 4001C64! ~~~*~~~ Beethoven, on the other hand, would play a Matte Jetglo 4001C64S!

What is the hole for next to the bridge if it is claimed to be original?

This is definitely one of my dream basses and one of the inspirations i had when refinishing my 4003 (well the 68 and Macca's 4001S). The tag is a bit steep though
