Mark for me, it's the....

Bird's eye, with the walnut stripe head stock.
Black bound head stock.
Checker binding.
Low impedance output
Ebony finger board.

Other than that they stink.

EDIT

AHHHH Joey beat me to it.

"The studio quite pickups and balanced output jack to go straight into a recording console."

All of what you said, Joey and Dave....

The fact you can go directly to the console is especially significant to me as I'll be doing this starting in the middle of October.

All the above mentioned features are fine, however the $64,000 question is of course:

Would it be available in Fireglo !!!!

Rickenbacker stated this model as "the finest electric bass guitar ever produced"...

And I truss them... Image

John ...

Will they be available?

Or will they just sit on that pallet?

Hi John,

How about an ebay auction with proceeds to your favorite charity? That would be cool...and I would buy one as well.

Maybe the 4002 is being re-introduced for the 75th anniversary ?

Makes sense to me. Why re-issue a 4001V68 or a 4005 when you had a model that was ahead of its time to begin with.

Maybe now's the time.

Whoa there big boy !!!!!

4002 is a nice instrument, but not in the same leauge as a potentially tricked out Fireglo v68 !!!!
