Any chance of getting sound clips on the website?

We were trying to get this done in time so that as you flipped the switch on the website flash the tone would change. However, with the NAMM show coming up next week, there just hasn't been enough hours in the day to get everything done.

I can see it now:
"To RIC Customer Service,
I'm 17, have been playing bass since I was 15, and after all this time I finally got me a new Ric 4003. I love it but when I have the treble pickup selected and pull up on the pot all the bass goes away. Please help!"

Cool. Though the way things are looking, I may have one in my hands by the time the flash gets up to the site. ;)

Did I miss it? Will there be a retro kit someday?

I think this is a great feature! Makes me want another bass. I've got to get a C64S first though.

Will this feature eliminate the Need for adding a VP?
How would The Sound of a Bass be affected by adding a Vintage pickup to this feature?
YES is the Answer!

No, the tone cap and the vintage pickups are different things. The VP option with this switch would move the sound even closer to the vintage 60's tone.

I'm sorry if this has been said/questioned before..
1) When will this option available? (for example on music123.com)
2) Will this switch be on or inside the bass?
3) Offtopic: Is Rickenbacker going to have a decent 5 string 4003 in production some day?

It is supposed to be a standard feature starting in 2006.

The switch is built into the treble tone pot. If the knob is pulled the pot will switch to cap mode and return to 'modern' mode when the knob is pushed back in.

I am eagerly awaiting the reissue of the 5er. My order will be placed the day it is announced that they are back in production.

5er back in production ????

Never heard such rumor, but we can hope of a more balanced string spacing this time, imho.

Bob,
Good to see that the BobKat of the past is here.
