Chris, can you tell me the difference in the '62 and '63 reissue necks? I read one of those was closest to Paulie's. I've sold my '67 and want to get a reissue, but need more information. I liked the skinny on my '67.

If you want the "skinny" neck, go with the '63, it is a 3-piece neck compared to the 2-piece '62.....I wanted the bigger neck....it's not much different though.......they come with flats too!! Got a nice sound right out of the box!!

Check out the comparison on Chris Claytons site:

I've got two Yamaha SBV500s but also a 4001 and a 4003 on the way (as long as the ebay deals go through cleanly) I did have others but they've been sold to pay for the Rics Image

Recently added a Martin EB-18 to the collection. I wanted one of these for the longest time since I grew up in Nazareth. Big bonus is that this bass sounds great.

I'm currently selling my 68 Tele Bass,my Ampeg little Stud in checkerboard(Cool little bass) and a Rickenbacker 4001v63

but

Adding a Hamer 12 string medium scale, a 59 Precision Custom Shop NOS and still waiting on a 4004 Cheyenne II in Blue Boy.

Add those to my 73 4001 project and a souped up Fender Highway 1 Precision and you have my complete collection. Unless you count my wife's 70's Kramer aluminium neck job.

My little collection consists of:
Epiphone Thunderbird
Ibanez 5 string
Hamer B12L 12 string bass
Guild acoustic given to me by Earl Klugh (helped design his house).
and my Rickenbacker '73 4001MG.
I used to have like 20-22 guitars and basses, but after moving 3 times in 2 years, I realized I didnt need all of them and started thinning the herd.

Andrew,
How do you like the Jay Turser Beatle bass?? Not being able to afford a Hofner, I've been trying to decide between an Epiphone and Turser.
