I assure you that the guitar is still beautiful even when it isn't backed by a carpet that was designed by the person who invented cat vomit.

Heh. It would be extremely low on my list of things to sell.

Right around the time I started sort of hanging around here and on the Rickenbacker forum, Ben posted this over there:

http://www.rickenbacker.com/forum_view_message.asp?forum=Just_Guitars&message_id=18933&thread_id=89&thread_name=620%20appreciation%20thread&p=p#18933

- it was about that one. Probably the greatest "mistake" in the history of guitar making!

Here's a little more. For those of you who aren't wild about the guitar, you can see the carpeting in finer detail...

Hmmmm. I'm having a little trouble with the wacky image posting. I'll put them up when I figure out what's up.

Wow.... That is about the most amazing Blueburst I have ever seen.... There's just something really cool-looking about 650's anyway....

One of the things I really like about the 650's is the simplicity. The only over-the-top thing about this guitar is the flame, which is a bit wild and asymmetrical, but really works with the simple lines, etc.

I would add that it sounds and plays better than it looks. On a good day, even in _my_ hands.

POTR's photos of this one (which can still be viewed) does not even come close to capturing the grain detail. I have a 660/6 and a 330/12 in blueburst which is my favorite RIC color. That is a gem!
