Here's a beauty: a '92 Fireglo 2060 that I had for a while. I sold it to Eric Kutzler early this year, and he brought it to the SoCalCon.

Dang, I missed it at SoCal. I've never seen or played one.

John, apparently he brought it over on Friday (?) and took it back the same day. Then Eric showed again on Sunday with different instruments. I missed him also on Friday, but there was a shot of him there with it.

My re-bodied 2030 wearing it's black set of guards and TRC.

Looks great! How about some gold guards on it?
That must sound fantastic with the pickups in those positions.

Gold is possible, though it would look better with a plexi gold TRC than painting over a molded one. I currently have black and white parts, but kind of like this stealth mode. With contrasting guards, I tend to miss the visual effect of having the pickups surrounded by chrome (current covers don't seem to fit these old humbuckers, but might with some grinding). With this all-black look, I don't really miss them. The sound is excellent and very adjustable from piano-tone to jazz bass thump to a surprisingly close impersonation of an acoustic bass guitar.

An ebony or at least a blacked out fingerboard a la Brian Crisman would greatly add to the effect!

Nice custom job! Clever body shape mod.

I'm not big on painted fingerboards. Fretless ebony would look cool (no dots as I find marks on fretless fingerboards really distracting and annoying). Then again, I already have two fretless basses with un-dotted ebony fingerboards. For the same reason that I wouldn't put toasters on it (even though they would be really cool) namely that it does what it does extremely well, I think I'll just leave it as is and enjoy playing it.
