Bjorn, if your doctors are advising a left atrial appendage occlusion (LAA) to reduce your risk of another stroke you should definitely go with their recommendation. This is the most common cause of heart related strokes and it can be done without cracking your chest open nowadays. I'm no doctor but have personal experience with it.
