BJORN ERIKSSON

Post by jingle_jangle »

I just received this email from Bjorn. Sadly, his health problems continue.

Let's all wish him a speedy recovery and return to finger-picking as soon as possible!

Dear members of the Rickbeat Guitar Forum.

Today I returned home from the hospital after having a stroke. I am not
in a very good shape and I will need a long time for recovery. Just
wanted you to know why I haven't answered emails or other comments. I
will not be very active on the net in the nearest future but I hope to
be able to get back when I feel stronger.
I have lost functionality in my right arm and hand but I have a hope be
able to build up the nerve connections again. My right leg is also
affected and I will need a lot of training. No finger picking styles for
a while.....but *^>', one day....
Need to rest now. Take care of you all!

Regards,
Björn

Yes, I just got this and replied to Bjorn as well, I am very shocked.

Bjorn is one of the most avid Rickenbacker fans I know of, and it was great that he could come to California in 2006 for the RIC 75th gathering....meeting Bjorn was one of the high points of the whole weekend.

In my reply I told him to take care of himself, he has many fans here in the USA and all over.

Bjorn, if you read this in time, Get well soon!!!! :D

Just heard from him as well. Sad news indeed. :(

John, you're absolutely right - getting to meet Bjorn was one of the best parts about the 75th.

I am shocked by this news which I received just moments ago. I replied to Bjorn's email and sent love and best wishes from all at the RickResource Forum.

I know he would love to hear from you even though he may not be able to respond at this time.

I saddened to hear the Bjorn had a stroke and I wish him a speedy recovery.

A colleague and golfing buddy of mine suffered a stoke back in September. He returned to work a couple of weeks ago, even though it's only half-days. He also has a goal of being able to play at least nine holes by Memorial Day.

To Bjorn, all the best, and a speedy recovery.

It was wonderful to meet him at the 75th, since he was one of the very few who were around to welcome me into this Rickenbacker universe a short ten years ago. His site has been a constant mark of excellence, with great information, pictures, and stories and sounds all about the instruments we've all come to know and love. Very few have accomplished what Bjorn has, and I fondly remember when he posted "walking tours" in his backyard. That was a great way for a broke college student in Florida to see other parts of the world, from the eyes of someone half a world away who shares the same fanatic interest I do.

Let's see you back real soon, Bjorn! Cheers, Jason

I'm saddened by the news of Bjorn's health situation as well. One of my fondest memories of the 2006 Rickenbacker 75th weekend was having lunch at Ruby's on Huntington Pier, with Bjorn, Alison and Graham. Prior to that weekend, none of us had ever met before. There was this Englishman, an Australian and a Swedish guy, with this funky American chick acting as tour guide (sounds like the start of a joke!) and it felt like we'd known each other for years.

All the very best to you, Bjorn. I wish you a full and speedy recovery my friend.
