How frustrating! Did you manage to pick it up today? If not, I hope you can get it before the weather gets ****** tomorrow (I assume you guys are going to get clobbered too...)

Hey yeah I was able to get it yesterday :D Can't wait to play it. It's currently just chilling in the box while I wait for it to acclimate.

Must...resist...urge...to...stare...uncontrollably...at...box

Yeah I was kinda bummed when the delivery guy told me no dice and put my 4003 back on the truck and took it away. Then I had to scramble to get to the bank before it closed and get a check made up and then go pick it up at the UPS depot (or whatever you want to call it). Thankfully that was an effortless process and I was in and out with my bass in a matter of minutes.

Waiting for it to acclimate is fairly easy compared to the anxiousness and hassle I had to deal with waiting for it to get delivered. Still wish I could open it up and try her out though haha.

Its kind of like when a little kid gets up at about 4AM on Christmas morning and has to let mom and dad sleep until 6 or so right?

haha it feels exactly like that! And I do work nightshifts all weekend so I won't get to play it very much until Monday rolls around unfortunately :( .

You know, you could open it up outside in the cold. The harm is done when there is a quick change in temperature. If the box and case are cold, you don't want to bring it inside, open it, and let the instrument quickly heat up in a warm house. That risks cracking the clear coat if the wood expands faster than the clear coat. But if you open it in the cold outside air, there is no rapid change in temperature. Check it out, get the thrill over with, put it back in the cold case, then bring it indoors and let it warm up gradually for a few days.
