Banning of Rickenbacker on basschat uk

I had a similar problem in an Italian forum but ...
fortunately my mastery of the English language does not allow me to be able to make a controversy!
so here I'm not ugly discussions with anyone!

Personally I find it unfortunate that a disagreement on another forum has made it here to the RRF. Quite frankly I could give a damn. RIC has a business plan that they have followed for years. That is their business and not the members of this forum or any other. I don't need to defend or offend their plan.

As to all the new members that have followed here from basschat, I will welcome you if you are truly here to discuss all things Rickenbacker. If you just came to support the argument I feel I could do without.

These are my opinions and do not reflect that of the Admin. I have been a member here for nearly 10 years. IMO this thread has run it's course and should be locked. I doubt the parties will ever agree without a legal filing.

But you need to "get" that we are not a company like ebay, Gumtree etc, but a forum run by enthusiasts and will respond in a reasonable amount going forward.

I certainly "get it" that BassChat is not like eBay and Gumtree . . . not even close. Nevertheless, it is operated as a commercial entity, soliciting and accepting advertising for compensation, as well as selling goods in its own online shop. While we haven't found a Company House registration yet, the actions of the site clearly are those of a business.

The RRF here is a much better example of an enthusiast-based operation, accepting no advertising and not involved directly in the sale of goods.

Second is, to me, validation of the axiom "Two great peoples separated by a common language". I write or respond to emails with Americans and member of many other cultures and rarely have any negative response, in in fact in many cases, I get thanks. But very often dealing with folks from the U.K. I get back angry, rude and antagonistic replies. I reread what was sent and simply don't see what could possibly be the problem with what I said. I have some theories about this and many of my close English friends have concurred- but for our purposes here, let's just say that there are still vast cultural differences at play for better or worse.

I think I understand where Mr. Hall is coming from. A few of my superiors are English-born and among them there is a guy that seems to need a subtext translator. Everything he says has a lot more meaning than surface level, and it's not always obvious that his please, thank you or compliment may be a bit darker than it seemed. That said the others are very transparent and fun to be around, and I even like the aforementioned gentleman under the right circumstances.

I try not to judge anyone by the nation of their birth, the colour of their skin, their beliefs or the size of their feet. If we can talk about Rickenbackers it's a start and maybe enough to build a friendship or two on. People are people are people.

Parties don't agree after a legal filing, either. They may settle on some terms because it isn't worth spending more to fight about it, or at worst, they never agree and a jury or judge gets to tell them how much one side should pay the other for not doing so.
