Finger-rest question.....

Post by beatlefan »

I need one for my 4005, cut to original specs.....
I know there is someone here that makes them but can't remember his name...someone help me out here?...
*This is for looks only...

Do any of you that have an instrument with a finger-rest actually USE it? Are you supposed to lay the bottom of your pinky on top of it or use it to "hook" your pinky, like an anchor?
...or is it just personal preference?

I think it's Don Adamek who makes them Chris.

I think rests were originally placed beneath the G string so you could hook your fingers under and play with you thumb....though I suppose some players would have rested their fingers on the top.

That's me, yup. I have another guy here who's wanting one or two, and I'm going nuts lately trying to schedule time to actually do this.Between my work schedule, and my wife constantly throwing "household projects" at me, I have little or no time to do much but eat and sleep.Well, OK, I sneak in some picking time, too, but wifey says "all you do is think about your guitars".....I'm sure none of you guys ever deal with this, right? [lol]But seriously, I ought to try and gear up and make a bunch of them. I have the material....

Hi Don....my wife has actually "seen the light" with my guitar/bass buying and selling. Now , instead of "all you do is think about your guitars", it's "Ok honey, if you think it's worth it".........

....and guys...NO, she's NOT for sale!! Image

Don, if you could put me on your list for a finger-rest, I would certainly appreciate it!!
I'll e-mail you offline if you wish....

Joseph,
Are you coming to the RIC comfluence in Columbus, Ohio mid May? We are trying to get as many 4005s together as possible in one location.
