McGuinn's Line 6 POD

Post by loverickbass »

Anyone have a clue as to what his settings are? I'm sure the compressor is at full all the time. Wonder which amp he likes?

Roger no longer uses the Line 6 Pod; he replaced it with a JangleBox last October. He also doesn't use an amp when he plays live. His Ric goes from a Sennheiser wireless transmitter into a JangleBox, then straight into the board.

I believe his JangleBox settings are Attack at 4:00 and Gain at 2:30.

Sorry 'bout that Steve, I guess I should have said; when he did use it what were his settings?

BTW, I'm still saving for my Janglebox!

You can find out more about Roger's gear and how he records by going to the "McGuinn on recording & JangleBox" thread here in the Byrds Forum.

A friend of Roger's told me that Roger set the Pod on the Brit Classic amp model, and added the compressor effect. Some folks thought he used the Line 6 Clean setting since it was modeled after the Roland JC120, but he didn't.

At one point Line 6 actually had a "Roger McGuinn" setting on their web site, but when I played my RM using those settings, it didn't sound at all like McGuinn to me.

Steve,

That's great; I go over and check the other thread.

J.C.:

McGuinn e-mailed me a few years ago. He told me that his settings are the following:

Britsh Blues Compressor or Delay Compressor
Output Level 10 (all the way)
Drive 0 (off)
Bass, Treble To Your liking!
Middle Same
Channel Vol 10
Reverb 4
Effects Tweak 10

No electric guitar can compare to the "jingle-jangle" of a Rickenbacker!!!
