Joe Osborn flatwounds part 2

I put on the Joe Osborn 45-106 set this evening. They feel awesome, and have a nice thunk even unplugged. I'll have to wait until rehearsal to see what they sound like on my modified 4003.
The Fender flats just got to be too much, they sounded pretty decent but they felt like cables from the golden gate bridge or something. I took them off and put on a set of rotosounds. And I just could not take it. It was pingy and piano like, and that's cool, but not what I wanted! Going back to roundwounds also felt weird because they seemed so "grabby", like sliding on them was harder.
The Osborn's feel about the same tension wise as the rotos.
So rehearsal this week will tell I guess!
