On the case !
i was wondering if anyone knew why the guitars are placed in the cases in what i would describe as with thier backs to us rather than facing towards you when you open.i play right handed so i can see in a way the positioning is easier just to pull out and strap on... i have occasionaly pulled the case from under the bed, not intending to play as sometimes i just like to look at it as its so beautifull but it looks wrong as its facing away in the case. this weekend i will be reversing the lineing in the case so when i open it i can see the guitar ? anyone ever done this or am i to pedantic ?

IMO Gretsch has the best-balanced cases out there. My 6122 case is angled perfectly when I pick it up, carries beautifully, especially up stairs, where the tilt of the neck clears the stairs in front without any juggling.
My Fender Duo-Sonic (22.5" scale)case, BTW is just short enough to stash in an overhead bin. So I can hand-carry it onboard a smaller jet, no worries about damage from checking it through.

imagine takeing your guitar and placeing the body end in the case where the neck would sit and the neck where the body would normaly sit, then the guitar is facing you as you open
the case, the easiest way to do this is to take out the furry innards and turn it round.
and as for hobby's they are for kiddies and the religiously inflected...and as for likeing looking at the guitar, why not its a real pussy !

Anthony, you have a way with words that is nothing short of magical. But I agree with John: My first reaction was, "HUH?". Then I re-read your post and my second reaction was, "WHY?"
And I still don't see why go through all that hassle.
As I recall, you were going to do this a couple of weeks ago. Did you? How did it turn out? Perhaps you could post a picture or two for our edification?

I won't set foot in a dressing room that doesn't have room for at least a case, preferrably with some way to ice it down...Antony, Paul may disagree, but I think you need to up your dosage a little...a good rule of thumb is to keep at it until you find yourself TYPING IN ALL CAPS!!!
