NAMM 2002 4001C64S Mapleglo
R. C. Bengston has kindly sent some more NAMM 2002 photos of the 4001C64S in Mapleglo, the "Wings Bass" to the Rickenbacker Registration Page. A great looking instrument with the zero fret.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

While the "Zero Fret" adds authenticity to this faithful reproduction of the period, I am wondering what the difference in feel and sound will be compared to the "zero fretless" 4001C64S in Fireglo. I would expect to hear a tonal difference when the string is played open. Should you have had the opportunity to play both, I would be most interested in your comments.
