Checkerboard 4001 on the bay
The BIN price is very low for such an bass, isn't it?
I'm not complaining though!!! If only CS's were the same price!

This bass should have chrome-top knobs and a finger grip, the holes are probably there under the replacment pickguard. Both of my Mapleglo 72's were made 4-5 months after this and they both have what this bass is missing....
I've seen a lot of pics of Rickenbacker basses in the UK with non factory-issue cases, and this may be what took place for a time in relation to sales in Europe; the vendors may have had another outlet for cases...if Mr. Hall sees this post maybe he can add to it on way or the other...

When I bought my first Rickenbacker in the early '70s I paid £110 for the guitar. A proper Rickenbacker case was another £100 on top (gulp). Bear in mind my wages were less than £20 a week at that time. So lots of buyers just bought a cheap case.
