I'm afraid that this poor fellow may be sinking deeper and deeper into the grips of mental illness!

This is the best ad yet from the Emperor! Good stuff...I actually had to look at all the pics to see who won!
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

Yes, he has quite an imagination and knack for photographing poseable figures! But still...it worries me...there's a fine line between genius and insanity! It seems that his auctions started out with mostly serious photos and a couple of Godzilla pics thrown in at the end. Then more Godzilla photos. Then the lawn jockey. And now this auction's photos are entirely made up of the Emperor's brand of playtime activities.

Do I have the right to be concerned here?!

That was scary Brian....the Emperor's got more class than that.
I think Jeff that a bass p/up is more Godzillas size & who can blame him & Sven for fighting over it....after all, that's what we do on ebay all the time! Image

Ahhh, now I get it! I think you're on to something Tony. He's mocking us, the bidders who fight over the merchandise he is selling.

That, or maybe as a seller he strives to fill the prospective buyer with the rage and frenzy of a crazed monster who will bare his teeth, growl, froth at the mouth and bid with a reckless disregard for value considerations!

I think he's crazy like a fox, he's got all of us talking about him, he'll soon be the most famous Ric seller on ebay. I personally think this whole thing is a riot.

My guess is that he did it a bit at first because he naturally has a good sense of humor. PLus a funny add will stick out in the mind of the buyer more (good marketing).

If he lurks around this forum... then you guys are to blame. He sees that people talk about him and laugh... so it encourages him to do it more... make everyone laugh.

NOw he may have come to realize that you guys are free marketing for his auctions... he puts up something funny... and you guys go back and spread the word on the ric forum (full of collectors, some big time collectors).

Godzilla is good business for the Emperor

He rules.

Q: Hi Emp, your pickup is a fairly recent 4003 pickup, you can tell by the two parallel raised lines, BTW your auctions are always the talk of the Ric forum in case you didn't know, haha! http://www.forum.rickresource.com/

A: Yes, it's a 4003 pickup from a 2004 purchase from the lads up in Santa Ana(rickusa). No scuffs or tooth marks, as the chrome finish stood well the Godzilla bite test. Looks like Rick is saving some money by making high gain/toater top pickups. Pretty cool. Rickenbackers may well be the best fit and finish in the bizz. One never sees a factory blem on a rick. Any pilot worth his salt would be proud to fly a Rickenbacker over the front lines. Eddie would be proud.

You might be right John, but I like his ads in a sometimes depressingly fraudulent & ignorant world of ebay. I like ebay too, but these ads are good fun. If we spread the word & some good gtrs end up in collectors hands that wouldn't have known about it anyway....that's also good. We are quick to spread the word on dealers, on availability of desirable gtrs & on fakes & copies....so why not the Emperor? Don't get me wrong, I don't know him, but at face value it's great.

Long live Godzilla!

Sean, where did you get that? I sent it to him today and that was his answer to me, in fact I was just going to print it as: Communication from the Emperor. We need a few more charactors around here.

I saw a couple of his auctions before. I thought he was crazy. Now I KNOW he's crazy. Good gimmick though.

it's on the auction page. when someone asks a seller a question, he can choose whether or not to make it public.
