Can anyone explain to me why a reissue nameplate is going for over $250??!?

Hmmm, I noticed that VOXWORLD has bid repeatedly on this. Isn't that "Lee" who had been under suspicion recently over at VoxTalks?? A ridiculous price.

Kenny and John: While we're on the subject, what should a genuine plate from the '60's sell for?? I refer to the type that is thicker than the re-issues and is clear on the sides; only the bottom surface is screened. Any ideas???

I sold a couple of them on eBay last year in the ballpark of $100; I got more for a lefty old style plate, can't remember how much. Should've kept 'em. Ah well.

This should not be such a difficult part to acquire, IMHO.

I guess they will go for whatever the buyer is willing to pay. When you consider that the suggested retail price for the nameplate is currently $45. US new, I suppose that a doubling for a vintage plate will put us close to $100. US and within the ballpark of being reasonable. But a quadrupling, I concur is pushing the envelope. In the end, if you have a vintage instrument, you probably won't seetle for a new nameplate if you can arrange to get an older one.

!!! the price has gone UP on these? I thought it was $25 US plus your old one, though Rhodes was charging $50 plus the old one.

Yep, I think it should be $25. One can tell pretty easily if someone has stuck a Ric nameplate on a Turser, I think.

I think the price went up that high because Ric isn't selling them outright anymore. It's that "give me yours and I'll give you mine" deal.

I used 'buy it now' to buy a 12-string gold truss cover with upper & lower pickguards for $49.00 a couple of weeks ago.

Bidders on this piece should check gbase- there's been a 60s truss cover for sale there for weeks at $200.00.
