Replaced tuners with new Schaller, but otherwise stock. Beautiful shape.
And now a nice Burg fretless

I didn't read the guys dissertation on this when I saw it this morning..."nasty open tuners"...what?
I've NEVER had a problem keeping my 75 4001 (with those nasty tuners on it) in tune. My bet is this guy really wasn't the "bad-***" fretless player he thought he was and blamed it on his tuners.
Guess the starting bid is high, but if his reserve isn't $1200 then that's OK. Other than the tuning pegs it looks to be in rather fine shape.

"This bass has beautiful tone if you know how to play it. It sings like you wouldn't believe or can be EQ'd to sound like a tuba. It is extremely versatile."
but why would somebody want their Ric bass to sound like a tuba???
it looks like it had the grover tuners ... they a prone to falling apart ...
