The Lemmy sound - amp/speaker?

Post by hrn »

Hi guys,
I'm new on this board. My name is Hans Rosén and I'm from Sweden. I play a 4001 1975 with a Badass and customized electronics, use both mics all the time, in or out of phase, much better than the original setup...GHS Boomers strings because they are the best..

I wonder if someone knows what amp and speaker Lemmy used (uses?) on the early Motorhead recordings...around Ace of Spades and Iron Fist.

Hope this is the right board, otherwise, please feel free to redirect me.

Hello, Hans! AFAIK, Lemmy has always used Marshall bass amps and (I believe) cabinets with 12" speakers. I think there are interviews on one of the Motorhead web sites that detail his equipment.

Lemmy / Rickenbacker trivia: his first Ric in '72 was a model 4000, customized with a second pickup (from a Gibson Thunderbird) and 2 extra knobs/switch to control it (it can be recognized in photos of him with Hawkwind, because the four knobs are in a different orientation than on a 4001/4003).
My basses are Rickenbackers. My synthesizers and recording gear are analog.
