If Ric is even taking votes, that is ;)

It's been a while since Ric has done a special edition - wouldn't it be great to have a Marty Willson-Piper model? My wife may be getting on my case for having too many guitars, but this is one that even she would want us to have!

I admire and respect Marty as a player (an endless well of inspiration, truth be told). He, more than any other player, embodied Rickenbacker to me. So the conundrum is this: I don't really believe in signature-series guitars. But if RIC were to make an MWP guitar something akin to his one-off 1993SPC (Fireglo, Toasters, white double bound, F-hole, Ac'cent vibrato, etc.) I would likely buy it; the features alone would make it ideal. Maybe the quintessential Ric!

I believe Nick Thiel bought MWP's one-off. The chance was dangled before me and I sometimes regret not buying it. What would my 1997SPC/VB think?! Mostly MWP is seen with his 360/12RM *JG these days.

Anyone who ignorantly maintains that Rics are rhythm guitars only need but listen to virtually anything the Church put out post-1987 to learn otherwise. Forget about the strummers, MWP IS a real player!

cheers, Noel

I'd vote for Dave Gregory, if he'd be interested.

I wish Dave would get back with his old bandmates and start making music again.
And I vote for the Peter Quaife model 1999.

Guys,

What about Mike Campbell? He plays other guitars as well, but I've always found his Rick leads really cool.
