E-String Nut Slot

Post by mortivan »

The E-string nut slot on my 1994 4003 seems a bit too small for a .105 string. The string doesn't sit on the bottome of the slot, but rests on the sides. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I switch to lighter strings, or have the nut refiled?

Thanks.

You can get a round parallel file at any hardware store near where chain saws are sold .They have several sizes ...a 1/8" file is a great tool to have , and is what I use for this slot.

Make all strings fit the slot ...why get stuck on one brand because the slot is not cut to fit any size.
So you too want yours "ALAPWOB"?!?!

Thanks Mark. I'll see if I can find one.
