Thanks Michael. I have always been taken by the unique style and tonality of Tony Jackson's voice. He did amazing covers and his version of Mary Wells' You Beat Me To The Punch is certainly no exception.

Nice early photos of Jackson and his group Michael. I continue to be amazed by your ability to find all of this original information.

Tony was rough around the edges but was willing to share his story with those who took the time to listen. He is certainly missed.

i always thought this single had Searchers written all over it, when you consider that in some way their career in chart terms was on the wane, you have to think that with their name on it. it may well have been a hit

Tony's CD sounds very much like The Searchers in places and to some extent also reminds me of the Hollies as well. It is difficult not to think what might have been when you hear his voice.

Jackson certainly had the personna of a rock star and Michaels photo's and listening to his CD once again confirms this for me.

Also, Tony Jackson brings an aspect of controversy that is an immediate attention grabber for me.
