Here is a photo of George Callins of the Textones in the 1980s. It is a 625 and while going out on a limb, I am going to suggest that it may be a blueburst finish. Thanks to Karl Teten for sending it to The Rickenbacker Forum.
Perhaps George will offer his comments on the venue and the instrument. No pressure, of course, George.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
"On black & white photography, reds tend to go very dark"
It depends on what color filter one uses on the lens. For example, a red filter will make red lighter while making green darker, and the reverse is true with a green filter.
Check out the front cover of the Textones' album "Midnight Mission" from 1984 (A&M/Gold Mountain). Carla Olsen, who later recorded with Gene Clark, is playing a Rickenbacker...which to these poor eyes looks similar to the one in the above photo.
I did say that I had poor eyes...and a poor bank account from wanting all these fine, fine, fine, fine guitars. Actually listening to "Midnight Mission" album earlier today; I still like a number of tracks off it. Gotta dig up my cassette copy of Olson/Clark.
Dear Forumites,
The 1962 625 I am playing is Fire-Glo. The photos of Carla are the same guitar. An Azur-Glo 620/6, but Ric made it just for her with ckecked binding that they found at the factory. Those are facts as near as I can place them.
BTW, that 620 of Carla's was stolen and if anyone has seen it... you know.

Q: What makes a good producer?
A: I don't know. What do you think?
