February 1977?

Post by 1rr3l3v4n7 »

I just wanted to say that, after reading about the Plaboy's February 1977 issue in the "Complete Rickenbacker History" book, and reading about it here, I made a short search on the web about that mysterious picture...

Oh my!!!!

That's hella cute!!!

Never seen such a cute... Azureglo!
Yes, I played one... and I know!

Hey Karl,
Miss Stowe & her relationship with Gene Simmons has been documented here many times. And while your enthusiasm is appreciated, the quite honorable Peter McCormack goes to great lengths to keep this forum pretty much "PG".
Please don't be upset when this thread is removed.

Sorry...

I had some troubles re-editing my post...
I wanted to see if the picture fitted because of the size and I wanted to censure it, but it was too late...

Finally I was able to remove it... As you can see.

So you say the bass is there because the girl had some relations with Gene simmons hein... I tought it was some kind of old fashioned Rickenbacker advertising...

Cool

*still sorry guys*
I won't do it again... Promised

Yeah, it was Gene's bass. The best thing that clown ever did was buy a Rick & date Star Stowe.

Don't sweat it man, we all have a uh, soft spot for Star Stowe...

Much of the archives are gone...Peter switched web hosts awhile back. Rumor is that he'll put it on a CDROM for us sometime in the future.

Gene was never really a Rick player, I guess he just had one. I mean there ain't a much cooler looking bass than an Azureglo 4001!

My opinion is that it was too fine of an instrument for someone with his impressive marketing, but limited playing abilities.

Are you sure it was Gene's bass and not just a prop for the shoot?

Yes. Very sad. Do a Google search on her. I think she got involved with drugs, became a prostitute and then was murdered.

Yes, but even worse than all that...she slept with Gene Simmons.
