Model 610 value and parts trade

Post by dr_wahnsinn »

What do you all think a 610 mapleglo with black hardware and vintage reissue case is worth? I could buy it for about $600 but I don't care for the black hardware and plastic. If it's worth $600 and I buy it, is there anyone who woud care to trade their chrome hardware and white plastics for black? I'd need the chrome pickup covers too as this one has Rick humbuckers and I'd like to keep those (I'm assuming that the covers are interchangable).

I agree, $600 is good price especially when you figure in the vintage case. I paid about $550 for an '87 a few years ago on ebay. The case was **** so I had to spring for another. It too had black trim.

The humbuckers have a taller cover than high gains. Also the newer HBs are different than the earlier ones. I don't know if the covers are interchangable. Maybe S'ergio knows.

Buy it. It's a snip at that price. But swapping the plastic stuff may prove to be a problem...

Stay tuned on this. Maybe there's somebody out there with a JG guitar who wants a Phantom looker.

Thanks for the responses so far. Maybe I'll forget about the 610 for now. I hate the black hardware and it might end up being more trouble than it's worth to find someone to swap parts with. I do have a 360 BBR on order. I'll just wait for that.
