My first bass was a Rickenbacker...
My best bass is a Rickenbacker...
My last bass may very well be a Rickenbacker

Has a brass nut- personally I've never seen a problem with having the brass nut, except for originality concerns.

Also has a Plexi TRC- MMMMMMMMM

Originality aside, my '77 has a brass nut and I think it does alot for volume, sustain, and presence. I don't think I'd have put it on myself, but I'd never get rid of it.
What do you mean the Bass is too loud???
