What is this Ric?

Post by aristeas »

Hi all, found this pic on an ebay auction (I think?) - but can't remember what model it was said to be. All I have is that it's a 1997 Model R, which is one I've never heard of. It looks like a 330FG with an f-hole. It's a particularly pretty finish, like a slightly more 'complete' fireglo (no bald patch in the centre) which appeals to me. Can someone give me some idea what it's real name might be?

Lee: When you get the chance would you please check the address in your post as it does not lead to a photo. You have described a Model 1997 which has been discontinued by RIC. I have always enjoyed the f-hole. Your characterization is a good one in that it is essentially a Model 330 with an f-hole and vintage toaster pickups.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Hm,
Sorry about that, the link works fine for me, but then it may be just from my cache. It's a link from my old 'dotcommies' site.
Try cutting and pasting either of these links instead -

PS - Is this colour a FireGlo, or is it something else - it looks great, LK

Lee, the link didn't work for me. However, here a pic of my lefty RICs with the 1997 on the right. Another difference between the 1997 and 330 is that the 1997 has a 21 fret neck.
