Chances are it's a fake. Too bad a picture is not available.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

If you scroll down to the picture captioned "Weird Tiesco basses"... the bass on the right is the same as my very first bass! Only mine was black, with white binding and a pickguard. I also owned a six string bass, like the one on the left at one point too.

Also on the site there is a "Harmony J_zzcaster", and I'm wondering what in the world they were thinking when they replaced the "a" with an "i" . . . when copies go HORRIBLY WRONG!!!
