Anyone using a Ric for Motown/Staxx stuff???
I'm trying to use my Ric for more styles of music and it got me thinking would't this be a great bass for motown and staxx hits because those guys all used vintage P basses which are just a vintage single coil in the middle of the body. My 4003 has a single coil in the middle of the body and the pickup cover so wouldn't this be a great bass for motown?

as we all know.. James Jamerson and Duck Dunne used p basses when they recorded all those classic gems.. however the ric bass does a very nice job filling the bill. If you need proof check out "Standing in ther shadows of motown" and also "What Duck Dunne" and play along with the included cds and you tell me what you think?
