My "new" 4001, what about the truss rods..?

Post by anoukane »

Hi,
I bought this Ric a few weeks ago. Now the neck isn't completely strait and i can't get the saddles any lower.
I wonder how to adjust the truss rods to get the neck more strait. I made some high resolution pictures of the truss rods in my bass. Are these original? Can someone give me advice?
Thanks in advance from a Rickenbacker noob.

Hi Philip,

Very nice Burgundyglo. Truss rod ends look just fine & original. I hope the bow in your neck is concave, so the action is too high in the middle of the fretboard. I say this because it is usual to have a little of the threaded rod showing at the end of the nut.

When you straighten the neck you will be screwing the nuts onto the end of the threaded bar. All the info to do this is on the forum, but I don't know the link. Maybe someone could help out here?

There's a real recent thread talking about some of the "style" involved in adjusting the rods of an older Rick like this.

Nice Burgundy, Phillip. What year? Looks a little newer than my 75.
Above e-mail is inactive. try ed_ardzinski@**** where **** is Hotmail.com or Yahoo.com. I tend to see things inthe hotmail box quicker...

Nice bass Philip. For adjusting the rods and other great info, check out Joey's site.
