Harrison/Ham SG

Post by route66guitars »

Seems the folks that auctioned the Harrison SG have, at the very least, posted an image of the wrong guitar on their Auction Highlights page:

http://juliensauctions.com/auction-highlights.html

Click on the 'Larger View' link.

Compare it to the image on this page

http://www.modernguitars.com/archives/000140.html

which is the guitar that was in the Hall of Fame display and has been authenticated as being George's.

I hope they didn't actually auction the wrong guitar (which was bought by the Harrison Estate.)

My apologies if this has been brought up already.

It was confirmed that the Harrison estate purchased this guitar? I was hoping that was the case, but I guess I missed the article that spelled that out. Good to hear though...

The SG, the Rosewood Tele, and a few other lesser pieces have been bought back at auction by the Harrison Estate.

There is no article that spells it out. Olivia has not publicly acknowledged buying back any of George's guitars. If she declares it publicly people try to take advantage. The 1965 Rick 12 is a case in point...

Hmm, I thought she had acknowledged purchasing the Rosewood Tele, albeit long, long after the purchase was made.

What happened with the '65 Rick 12?
