For all you old school Genesis Fans...
Maybe it was just because he was in Jerusalem but drummer and singer Phil Collins says he's open to the idea of a Genesis (1967-98) reunion.
"If it doesn't happen, it won't be because we don't want to. It will just be because there are too many things in the way," he said. "I'm happy to sit behind the drum kit and let Peter (Gabriel) be the singer." Gabriel left in 1975 to go solo.

Phil's a great singer . . . he's just not Peter Gabriel. He should do what he does best, which is play the heck out of the drumkit and sing backup.
If this happened, I would be the happiest person in the universe. I grew up listening to Genesis (all the way from Foxtrot to I Can't Dance). It would be the greatest thing since sliced bread!

Last month I saw Steve Hackett and I spoke to him about this possible reunion. He is hopeful and said there is a meeting scheduled to discuss it. A general consensus was that while all the members are still around that it should happen. I told him that if Pink Floyd can do it then Genesis certainly could too!
HAHAHAHAHAH!!! I might get some **** for this but I actually like Phil Collins' drumming more than Bruford's . . . I don't think one is better than the other (and frankly, Bruford is infinitely more versatile of a percussionist), but I prefer Collins; his drumming really made a lot of Genesis' stuff.
You'll get no **** from me, Bobcat...I like Bruford's playing only slightly more than Phil's, mostly for the intellectual approach and adventurous experimenting, but Phil routinely plays stuff that's physically impossible for all but a handful of drummers. My favorite example is the roll across the entire kit in the middle of the quiet section in 'Get 'Em Out By Friday' (Foxtrot)...he goes from top volume right down to nothing while executing a seamless, flawless move from snare all the way to floor tom...like I said, impossible.
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

Peter Gabriel is up for it too. And there is a meeting planned to discuss a reunion!
This all started about a month or two ago, when Steve Hackett started mentioning that the Genesis management contacted him.
